Comparaison des systèmes de concentration solaire destinés à la génération de vapeur et à la production de l'électricité

Ce séminaire a pour objectif d'exposer et confronter les technologies de la concentration solaire, c'est à dire l'ensemble des techniques qui visent à transformer les radiations solaire, après leurs concentration, en chaleur à haute températures (de 150 °C à 2000 °C), ensuite en énergie mécanique (et électrique) à travers un cycle thermodynamique. Ces techniques sont encore, pour l'essentiel, dans un état expérimental. Le présent exposé a pour objectif de commenter les résultats des travaux développés sur ces sujets dans divers pays.

Flow in Porous Media and Geothermal Research in New Zealand

New Zealand is well known for its geothermal and volcanic activity, with approximately 20 geothermal fields being located in the 'Central Volcanic Zone' of the North Island. In this talk I will describe research at Industrial Research Ltd which examines the nature of these geothermal fields. This work involves numerical modelling of water, heat and chemical transport in porous media on scales from 1 m to 100 km the aims of this research are to ensure the sustainable use of the geothermal resources for electricity generation and protection of the unique natural features (geysers and hot springs) which usually accompany geothermal activity.
